HEALTH & SAFETY guidelines

Updated August 1, 2023

The health and safety of our Riverside Orchestra community is our top priority. To meet that goal, the Riverside Orchestra has developed the following health and safety measures. We will continue to closely monitor current data and trends, and guidelines issued by the CDC, New York State and New York City and adjust as needed to changing circumstances.

COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • MASKS: Masks are not required at our rehearsals or concerts (subject to venue policies). Masks and face coverings are encouraged but optional.

  • VACCINATIONS: Audience members are not required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to attend a concert (subject to venue policies). Riverside Orchestra requires all musicians to have evidenced they completed an original primary COVID-19 vaccine series and one booster dose. It is strongly recommended that the Riverside Orchestra community stays up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines, based on eligibility determined by the CDC.

  • POST-CONCERT PARTY: Riverside Orchestra will be hosting an optional post-concert party with light bites and drinks for musicians and the audience immediately following the concert.

  • FLEXIBILITY: If you are feeling unwell, have symptoms related to a cold or infectious diseases, or have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 5 days, please stay home. We will be flexible in accommodating credits and refunds should you be unable to attend a concert, or if a concert needs to be rescheduled or cancelled.

  • COVID-19 LIABILITY WAIVER: By attending a Riverside Orchestra rehearsal or concert, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the COVID-19 Liability Waiver below:

While the Riverside Orchestra is taking measures to enhance the safety of its musicians and audience members, an inherent risk of contracting COVID-19 and other contagious diseases exists in any public space. In order to participate in Riverside Orchestra’s live rehearsals/concerts, you are required to read and accept the following waiver.

By participating in Riverside Orchestra’s live events and/or rehearsals, I will comply with all health and safety protocols implemented by the Riverside Orchestra and its venues as they may be changed from time to time based on applicable federal, state, and local rules and guidelines, and I agree that:

    • Riverside Orchestra cannot guarantee that I will not be exposed to and contract COVID-19 or other contagious diseases, and all those participating in Riverside Orchestra’s live events and/or rehearsals do so at their own risk.

    • I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 or other contagious diseases along with all related consequences. I agree that this waiver means that I irrevocably give up my right forever to bring any claims, including but not limited to claims of negligence.

    • Admission to Riverside Orchestra live events and/or rehearsals is conditioned on compliance with health and safety protocols as promulgated by the Riverside Orchestra and/or its venues from time to time. Anyone who does not follow applicable safety protocols may be asked to leave the premises.

    • Riverside Orchestra musicians and audience members have the right to an environment free from abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. Riverside Orchestra reserves the right to remove any person acting in an unacceptable or inappropriate manner.

    • This contract will be governed by the laws of the State of New York.

Wishing you and yours good health, and looking forward to seeing you soon!
